Intergenerational Dreamwork

The Pole Pedal Paddle is a race in Oregon that starts on Mt. Bachelor and ends up in Bend. It includes downhill and cross-country skiing, a bike ride down the mountain, a run, a kayak (or paddleboard) paddle, and finally a sprint to the finish.

Some impressive athletes do the whole race by themselves, but most of us create teams and share the glory.

Some friends and I formed two teams, and our ages—from 28 to 64—simply didn’t matter. We were just a normal team coming together with a common goal, playing to our strengths, and cheering each other on.
